The Bald Head Island Club is seeking a dynamic Event Sales Manager to lead the full lifecycle of private and Member events — from first inquiry through flawless execution. This is a high-visibility role responsible for driving event revenue while creating exceptional experiences that keep Members coming back year after year. Why This Role is Special

Lead creative design — tablescapes, themes, entertainment & “wow” moments
Drive wedding and private event sales in a highly sought-after coastal setting
Partner closely with culinary, operations, and leadership teams
Own your events from concept to completion
What You’ll Do
Sales & Business Development
Serve as the primary contact for Members and clients interested in booking events
Drive event revenue through proactive sales, promotions, and creative offerings
Upsell contracts and ensure revenue minimums are met or exceeded
Position the Club as a premier destination for Member weddings and celebrations
Respond to all inquiries within 24 hours with professionalism and enthusiasm
Event Planning & Coordination
Lead the full event lifecycle — consultation, planning, contracting, and execution
Design creative event concepts including décor, lighting, entertainment, and themes
Create detailed, accurate BEOs and lead weekly BEO meetings
Collaborate with culinary teams to design experiential and profitable menus
Coordinate entertainment, vendors, and special event enhancements
Event Execution & Member Experience
Execute events day-of as needed, ensuring flawless delivery and memorable experiences
Anticipate challenges — weather, transportation, staffing — and implement backup plans
Handle Member concerns professionally to ensure repeat business and satisfaction
Conduct post-event follow-ups and surveys to strengthen relationships and improve outcomes
Leadership & Operations
Serve as a liaison between front- and heart-of-house teams
Maintain vendor partnerships and industry relationships
Monitor budgets, payroll, and COGS to ensure profitability
Develop and maintain event booking SOPs and organizational systems
Support House Committee meetings and club initiatives
What You Bring
Proven experience in event sales, planning, or hospitality event operations
Exceptional organization and attention to detail
Creativity and passion for designing memorable experiences
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Positive, solutions-focused mindset with strong leadership skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management systems
Private club or luxury hospitality experience preferred
Hospitality, business, or related degree preferred
⌚Work Environment & Schedule
Primarily office and restaurant/event spaces with occasional outdoor events
40–50 hours per week on average; additional hours during peak seasons
Schedule varies based on event calendar
Weekend and holiday availability required
