Overview
Job Summary: District Sales Manager (DSM) will implement district sales strategies to achieve corporate objectives, develop and maintain strong dealer relationships, and drive market expansion by identifying growth opportunities and securing new dealer partnerships. In this role, the DSM will act as the primary point of contact for dealers, ensuring exceptional support and satisfaction by addressing inquiries promptly and effectively. The DSM will collaborate with internal teams and influence dealer performance to meet sales targets, expand the dealer network, and ensure that each dealer is fully onboarded, trained, and aligned with company standards, all while projecting a professional image on behalf of the organization.
Responsibilities
Sales Revenue Achievement:
Meet or exceed district sales revenue targets.
Monitor sales performance and develop action plans for improvement.
Dealer Support:
Respond to dealer inquiries via email and phone promptly (same day).
Provide guidance on product offerings, pricing, and promotional activities.
Dealer Visits:
Conduct at least 24 physical dealer visits per month to strengthen relationships and provide on-site support.
Provide hands-on product training, maintain brand standards through proper unit presentation, and communicate all product and company updates to dealership staff.
Gather market feedback during visits to inform business strategies.
New Dealer Development:
Recruit a minimum of 2 new dealers in the assigned district per month.
Assess and review dealer applications in alignment with company standards.
Market Insights and Reporting:
Analyze district market trends and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Submit daily logs of dealer correspondence (email, phone calls, and visits).
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales and activity reports.
Collaboration with Internal Teams:
Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
3-5 years’ field sales and retail sales or dealership experience with proven track record preferred.
3-5 years’ sales administration, distribution and customer service experience.
Knowledge of a distribution network strategy.
Must possess highly effective influence and relationship-building skills, excellent at customer service.
Analytical and sales oriented – able to craft a strategic sell-in based on demonstrated profitability and productivity measures.
Proficient in all MS Office software suite.
Flexible, comfortable with ambiguity.
Ability to multitask, can manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Light Mechanical aptitude, hands-on – willing to roll up sleeves.
Entrepreneurial, independent, self-starter.
Physical Demands This position requires frequent travel, including driving company trucks and trailers, often more than 70% of the workweek. The role involves extended periods of driving, as well as loading, unloading, and maneuvering powersports vehicles and equipment, which may include lifting, pushing, or pulling items up to 60 pounds. Employees may also spend time standing, walking, or performing inspections at dealerships, events, or partner locations. Domestic and international travel is required for product launches, dealer support, or training delivery. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
