SENIOR DIRECTOR, MSAT This role is based in the Houston, TX area. Must be open to relocation to the Houston, TX area. The
Senior Director of MSAT
will oversee the site’s MSAT function, ensuring it has the capacity, capabilities, and leadership needed to support the manufacturing plan. This includes administrative and technical leadership across small-molecule ,
oligonucleotide , and MSAT lab areas. The role is part of a new site lead team, which collectively sets and implements the site’s strategic direction, builds organizational capability, and manages cross-functional issues. The team focuses on long-term business goals, adapts to evolving corporate and external environments, and addresses challenges that span the organization. Site & Technical Leadership
Lead the technical agenda for the site, including small molecules, oligonucleotide manufacturing, and MSAT lab operations. Shape medium- and long-term site strategy as a member of the Site Lead Team. Oversee all aspects of MSAT, including new product introduction, process development, and optimization. Ensure validated processes and compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards. Strategic & Cross-Functional Engagement
Collaborate with Development teams to assess new product opportunities. Govern technical aspects of CMOs and build relationships with Synthetic Molecule Design and Development. Contribute to strategic decisions for small molecules and oligonucleotide business planning and execution. People Development & Resource Management
Ensure MSAT has the necessary resources and facilities to operate effectively. Mentor and coach team members in leadership, business, and technical areas. Support performance management, training, and career development for MSAT staff. Qualifications
PhD in a related science or engineering discipline (Chemistry/Biochemistry preferred) with 10+ years of experience OR a master’s with 20+ years of experience. 10+ years of experience in a leadership role managing operations within the pharmaceutical industry. Must have experience with API, small molecule, oligonucleotide, or peptide manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry.
