The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The practice utilizes ANA's Scope and Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance, and reflects the five domains of Clinical Knowledge and Practice; Professional Practice; Leadership; Professional Development; and Evidence-Based Practice, Quality and Research. The Staff Registered Professional Nurse III (Staff RN III) is licensed to practice professional nursing in Georgia, has a minimum of two years full-time RN experience, and holds a BSN, AD, or Diploma in Nursing. The Staff RN III manages care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the nursing division’s philosophy and policies, including the Northside Nursing Collaborative Care Model. The job descriptions for Staff RN I to Staff RN VI imply progression with increasing knowledge, skills, competencies and critical thinking.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations Must be certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) One (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in Family Centered Care/Maternal Infant Unit/Neonatal Intensive Care Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units
