
Overview
The First Assistant Golf Professional is an integral leader within the golf operation, working closely with the Head Golf Professional/Director of Golf to deliver an exceptional member experience. This position has a strong emphasis on member relations, tournament administration, daily golf operations, and staff leadership. The ideal candidate is service-driven, highly organized, and motivated to grow within a private club environment.
Experience Required
PGA Member or Associate in good standing prefered
Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for member service
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
Teaching experience or interest in growing a player development program
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Experience with golf shop POS systems, tee sheet management, and handicap software preferred
Essential Responsibilities
Provide outstanding day-to-day service to members and their guests
Assist in the management of daily golf operations, including tee sheet oversight and pace of play
Help plan, organize, and execute a full calendar of member tournaments, leagues, and club events
Serve as a visible and engaged presence in the golf shop and on the golf course
Assist with merchandising, inventory control, and golf shop presentation
Provide individual instruction, clinics, and player development programs as appropriate
Support the supervision, scheduling, training, and development of golf shop staff
Communicate effectively with members regarding events, policies, and golf-related updates
Enforce club rules and policies in a professional and member-friendly manner
Collaborate with other club departments to ensure a seamless and enjoyable member experience
