DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING (HOSPITAL) Salary Range: $157,000 - $170,00 per Year You shape the buildings that shape our care The Brooklyn Hospital Center has been caring for its community since 1839, and the strength of our facilities plays a critical role in how we deliver that care. Your high standards, leadership, and technical expertise help ensure our spaces are safe, reliable, and ready to support patients, families, and staff every day. We’re looking for an experienced engineering and facilities leader to take on a highly visible role—someone who understands what it takes to run a top-tier healthcare facility and takes pride in doing it right.

Your role You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of Engineering and Plant Operations, guiding facilities management, construction projects, equipment maintenance, and system upgrades. You’ll ensure our utility systems—both on-site and off-site—operate reliably, and that all work meets hospital standards and local, state, federal, and regulatory requirements. This role blends hands-on oversight with strategic leadership, ensuring our physical environment consistently supports high-quality, community-focused care.

To qualify

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 7–10 years of professional experience, including 5–7 years in a hospital setting Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations Solid understanding of TJC Physical Environment standards Working knowledge of engineering principles to guide staff and vendor work Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills Proven ability to supervise staff, contractors, and construction vendors
