Overview
The Senior Specialist Global Professional Engagement is a member of the GEMS Consulting and Medical Education (GEMS) team within Global Medical and Value Capabilities (GMVC). This function exists within Global Medical & Scientific Affairs (GMSA), part of Our Company Research Laboratories (RL). The Senior Specialist, Global Professional Engagement serves as a key professional interface with global and regional internal stakeholders, scientific leaders, healthcare professionals, and scientific/medical societies. The role requires attention to detail to ensure successful end-to-end planning and execution of group input meetings and ex-US global medical education programs. The position requires strategic insight and the ability to develop a comprehensive assessment, including reviewing an action memo documenting the legitimate business need for each program. In collaboration with business and strategy teams, the Sr. Specialist develops an annual plan of programs that considers product life cycle status and the business goals of GMSA and RL. Expert Input
Manages the effective organization and execution of end-to-end therapeutic focused group input meetings (GIMs) and consulting service agreements (CSAs) that align with the strategic plan, scientific platform, and market needs Reviews all action memos for expert input activities for global and US programs, and ensures the memos clearly articulate the business need Leads the planning and execution of GIMs, partnering with medical stakeholders to develop agendas and discussion guides, selecting appropriate global scientific leaders, ensuring compliant execution of each program, and finalizing the executive summary to capture the most relevant scientific input as it relates to each program’s objectives Ensures all final program documentation complies with policies and procedures and is archived in the appropriate online documentation storage repository Medical Education
Manages the organization and execution of end-to-end therapeutic focused global (ex-US) medical education programs aligned with the strategic plan, scientific platform, and market needs In collaboration with Medical, develops medical education program agendas (independent and with select professional and medical societies) aligned with regulatory governance and country-specific guidance, with the objective to improve patient outcomes through education of global delegates Informs the selection of key scientific leaders based on expertise and audience needs and country of origin of experts; oversees the development of planning documentation and program content, and supervises program execution Ensures the program plan is communicated in a timely manner to Our Company subsidiaries Other
Ensures that all global (ex-US) group input meetings, medical education programs, and CSAs adhere to Our Company and country policies and standards Ensures appropriate Conflict of Interest (COI) checks are completed, including FCPA, and that contracts for US and global experts reflect terms aligned with country-specific guidance and Fair Market Value (FMV) guidelines Deeply understands internal and external governing policies and regulations in implementing medical education across different geographies Collaborates across multiple markets globally to understand and accomplish franchise strategic medical business objectives through selection and execution of program types and effective relationships with key ex-US medical societies Maintains a high level of scientific and market knowledge through ongoing participation in relevant internal and external forums Oversees and reconciles all budgetary and financial transactions for each activity Required Qualifications, Skills, & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in science, business, or healthcare Demonstrated experience collaborating and leading cross-functional teams to achieve a measurable objective Demonstrated ability to establish relationships with key external stakeholders Demonstrated attention to compliance and legal expectations Excellent organization and time management skills Experience in US and ex-US Regulatory, Compliance and Risk Management aspects Strong project management skills Ability to solve complex problems and identify innovative solutions for daily processes within compliance and according to local laws and regulations Willingness to travel 25% of the time Preferred
Advanced degree such as a Masters or a Doctorate (e.g., MA, MS, PhD, PharmD, DO, MBBS) in science, business, or healthcare fields Required Skills
