The Pet Innovation team is comprised of passionate marketers who will play the role of entrepreneurs within our fast-growing, family owned company. We are looking for energetic, passionate, and intellectually curious marketers who can hit the ground running and deliver against our vision. The Brand Specialist - Pet Innovation position will play a key role within our high-energy, fast-paced, entrepreneurial group dedicated to standing up a new business pillar strategically aligned with BISSELL’s growth ambitions. Reporting to the Director, Pet Innovation, this role will be responsible for assisting in the implementation and execution of the product development GPD process and execution of the marketing plan for our new products. The individual in this role will support the fundamentals of category development & GTM marketing plans — consumer understanding, category analysis, market research, creative asset development, product launch readiness and marketing plans (retail/digital). In addition, this role will interact cross-functionally with critical departments required to build and grow the business – sales, integrated marketing, product marketing, consumer design, project teams, etc. The candidate should ideally have experience with consumer program development, GTM experience, cross-functional collaboration experience, high attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, analytical ability, strong presentation skills, and various systems experience to be successful in this role.

Responsibilities Supporting Global Product Development

Support internal product development stage gate process by managing and completing GPD deliverables and processing in BISSELL systems.

Structure new products in the system and update and maintain product and claims matrices.

Manage sales samples and prototypes.

Commercialize products & derivatives

Develop and execute go-to-market materials (packaging, user guides, point of purchase material, product videos, A+ content, etc.), partnering with outside and inside team members/agencies.

Maintain all deliverables on time to support overall project timelines.

Work with internal creative agency to lead the development of category POP & A+ content.

Support brand managers and internal sales teams with various financial analysis including forecasting inputs globally, CAR/Business Case financials, pricing, and promo plans.

Conduct strategic analysis monthly, define conclusions and make recommendations. Analyze by product, competitor, TV advertising, and trade merchandising to learn what is driving or negatively affecting the business.

Conduct competitive analysis for new and current products as it relates to pricing, retailer dynamics, product features and claims; recommend implications to business.

Ensure sales and internal presentations have current, up-to-date information. Coordinate product/samples/cartons for sales calls and internal/customer presentations.

Present to internal teams, agencies and smaller customers.

Coordinate demos and samples for customer presentations and hero launch development. Manage maintenance issues such as Product Obsolescence forms, Product Request forms, Inserts, etc.

Coordinate and lead other marketing and sales projects as needed.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
