We are seeking an experienced
Labor Relations Associate
to join our team in South Bend, Indiana. This fully onsite role supports labor relations strategy and execution, with a strong focus on union engagement, collective bargaining agreement (CBA) administration, and employee relations. The ideal candidate brings direct, hands-on experience working with labor unions and supporting negotiations in a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Support labor relations activities involving union-represented employees, including contract administration and day-to-day interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
Assist in preparation for and participation in labor negotiations, including research, data analysis, and documentation support.
Enforce CBA provisions consistently and fairly in collaboration with HR, operations, and leadership teams.
Partner with management to address employee relations matters involving union employees, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
Support grievance management processes, including documentation, responses, and follow-up actions.
Maintain accurate labor relations records and ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and contractual obligations.
Serve as a liaison between management, HR, and union representatives to support positive labor-management relationships.
Provide guidance and training to supervisors on CBA provisions, labor policies, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or related field preferred).
5+ years of hands-on labor relations experience, including direct work with labor unions.
Demonstrated experience supporting or participating in collective bargaining negotiations.
Strong working knowledge of CBAs, grievance processes, and union contract enforcement.
Solid understanding of federal and state labor laws.
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle sensitive employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion.
Comfortable working in a fully onsite, team-oriented environment.
