Overview POSITION OBJECTIVE This position is an integral part of on-site marketing and communications to ensure that the property is executing marketing strategies and tactics and the creation of unique programing consistent with the corporate brand standards, producing materials in a timely manner and on budget to meet the needs of the different revenue generating departments.

Position Summary Works with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Managing Director and home office team members to ensure that branding and creative standards in all areas are upheld. Manages creative projects from concept to completion, maintains the integrity of the brand voice, and translates marketing objectives into creative tactics to drive revenue while building brand awareness and engagement. Interacts with designated branding, media, public relations and print companies as well as sales, spa, food & beverage and all other revenue producing areas to ensure that communication material is produced to company branding standards and delivered in a timely manner. Manages social media and email marketing platforms. Works closely with home office team members including VP of Communications, VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing, to ensure strategic marketing communication needs are consistent and being met. Acts as the direct report for the Marketing Coordinator position.

Essential Job Functions

Receives and manages all marketing requests from initiation to completion including website updates, presentations, collateral, ads, signage and menus.

Collaborate with various department heads to develop on-property programs and partnerships. Craft creative briefs and leading internal brainstorms with departments.

Attend special events to capture content and industry related events within the DC market.

Draft and publish social media posts and reels across multiple channels.

Monitor all social channels, respond to messages and interact with comments in a timely manner, daily profile maintenance, including monitoring on weekends. Channels include: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn.

Assist with vetting influencers, coordinating logistics including briefs and coordination with on-property teams.

Oversee photo and video shoots in collaboration with home office.

Manages projects through the MONDAY project management tool in collaboration with agency and home office to meet deadlines.

Build and execute email marketing communications from start to finish for different audience segments including group, leisure, prospects and food & beverage. Prepare email copy and select imagery using pre-set templates.

Monitor and report on email campaigns. Oversee CRM database, audience list building for email campaigns and email marketing calendar.

Actively communicate opportunities to interface with noteworthy events and/or public relations to General Manager, Marketing Home Office and VP of Communications.

Lead monthly marketing meetings with department heads; generate agenda and meeting recap.

Monitor brand compliance for the resort. Manage all branded and co-branded materials for consistency and adherence to brand standards.

Maintain inventory of print collateral and ensure outdated materials are discarded; including guestroom materials, menus, signage, etc.

Support marketing coordinator as needed for website CMS on a daily/weekly basis to ensure content is up to date, accurate and meets Forbes digital standards.

Prepare presentation material for sales presentations as needed by sales and other revenue generating areas.

Oversee photo management and file storage in conjunction with Home Office Marketing to ensure outdated imagery is removed from property library and use.

Maintain and update property profiles and offers on third party partner sites and portals including Google, i.e. Preferred Hotels, Virtuoso, CVent, Tripadvisor, Forbes, Group Representation Firms, etc.

Identify and keep updated local and regional listing sites for all revenue areas including Food and Beverage, Spa, Golf, Rooms. (ie. Washington.org, etc.)

Maintain competitive research for all revenue areas including information for holidays, special events.

Prepare final ROI on all special promotions, events, holidays using the corporate ROI form.

Assist in growing database especially for spa and F & B and submit to database.

Develop landing pages as needed for promotions, local accounts/partners, groups and marketing campaigns in partnership with Marketing Home Office.

Participate in monthly agency marketing call with DOSM, DORM and home office.

Participate in weekly Revenue call with DORM, DOSM, GM to identify marketing needs and strategies with focus on key weekends, holidays and events.

Participate in monthly PR agency calls with DOSM and VP of Communications.

Liaise with local media outlets for PR opportunities, in coordination with VP of Communications.

Liaise with VP of Communications on coordinating media visits and photo shoots.

Assist with all other marketing tasks and projects as needed.

Support marketing coordinate for on-property printing needs with approved print vendors.

Graphic design work using brand templates in Canva for materials including posters, flyers, invitations, social posts.

Education/Experience

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred

At a minimum, must possess at least five years related sales experience and training or an Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and related sales experience

Minimum of 5 years in marketing experience required.

Experience in hospitality marketing.

Requirements LANGUAGE SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals.

Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.

Ability to speak effectively before groups such as customers or employees.

Writing samples required.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare reports and budgets.

Read and interpret business records and statistical reports.

Make business decisions based on reports and similar facts, as well as on experience and personal opinions.

Skills

Must have sufficient computer skills that will allow them to be able to use, in a proficient manner, all Salamander Hospitality issued software programs implemented, including but not limited to the following:

Microsoft Word

PowerPoint

Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of e-mail and CRM platforms

Knowledge of CMS (Content Management Systems)

Knowledge of basic photo editing, resizing images

Prefer some graphic design background with InDesign, Canva.

Basic video editing skills preferred in Adobe Premier Pro and/or Final Cut Pro

NOTE: Company-issued software programs implemented may be changed from time to time; the E Marketing Manager is required to learn the new programs and upgrades as soon as practicable.
