**Position Title:**Student Employee, Financial Aid**Job Description:**Student Employee position for Financial Aid/Veterans Office**POSITION TITLE**: Student Employee, Financial Aid/Veterans Resource Center**STATUS**: Part-time**DEPARTMENT**: Financial Aid**REPORTS TO**: Coordinator, Financial Aid**CLASSIFICATION**: Non-exempt**MINIMUM PAY RATE**: $15.00 per hour(Position is FWS Eligible)**ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**1. Perform general office duties within the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.

2. Assist students with general questions through email, Live Chat, in person, and by phone.

3. Schedule appointments.

4. Scan documents submitted to the Financial Aid Office and Veterans Resource Center.

5. Create flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials.

6. Complete special projects as requested

7. Gain knowledge of the financial aid/veterans' process.

8. Perform related duties as assigned.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**1. GPA of 2.0 or above.2. Must be enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours.3. High School diploma or equivalent.4. Excellent Customer Service skills5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.6. Attentiveness to detail, excellent organizational skills, initiative, and multitasking.7. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**1. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.3. Demonstrated multicultural competence.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**1. Office and classroom clean-up will require the ability to kneel on the floor and/or bend at the waist.2. Ability to lift and move equipment.3. Power tools might be used.**WORKING CONDITIONS****Full Time/Part Time:**Part time**Scheduled Hours:**20**Scheduled Weekly Hours:** This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
