Carrier Compliance Specialist
to support safe, compliant, and efficient transportation operations. This role is responsible for carrier onboarding, documentation verification, compliance monitoring, and accounts payable audit support. The position plays a key role in mitigating risk, maintaining carrier relationships, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards. What You’ll Do
Review, onboard, and approve new transportation carriers in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Verify and maintain carrier documentation, including insurance certificates, operating authority, safety ratings, and contracts Monitor carrier compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and third-party compliance monitoring services Track insurance expirations and ensure timely renewals Conduct periodic carrier audits and compliance risk assessments Identify compliance gaps and work directly with carriers to resolve deficiencies Stay up to date on regulatory changes impacting carrier compliance Accounts Payable & Invoice Review
Audit AP invoices for: Valid Proof of Delivery (PODs) Overages, shortages, and damage (OS&D) Billing accuracy and discrepancies Enter validated invoices into AP systems Respond to carrier payment and processing inquiries Internal Support & Communication
Communicate compliance requirements clearly to carriers and internal stakeholders Maintain accurate records in carrier management and compliance systems Support operations, procurement, and legal teams with compliance-related inquiries Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent 1–3 years of experience in carrier compliance, transportation, logistics, or a related field Working knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, and transportation compliance regulations Experience reviewing carrier insurance documents, operating authority, and working with factoring companies Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Clear written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (TMS) Preferred
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree Experience with carrier onboarding platforms (RMIS, MyCarrierPackets, Highway, or similar) Understanding of transportation risk management and insurance requirements Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities Office-based role Regular interaction with carriers, brokers, and internal teams Standard business hours:
