About This Role The University Relations (UR) Specialist manages the recruiting life cycle to ensure the right people are in place to meet business demands. The UR Specialist uses diverse sourcing strategies to build a high-quality, diverse candidate pool in a cost-efficient manner, interviews, and presents pre-qualified candidates for all positions. The role partners with HR business partners and hiring managers to benchmark processes, adjust strategy, set expectations and drive staffing decisions. The UR Specialist coaches hiring managers on selection strategy and behavioral interviewing and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Responsibilities
Closely partners with hiring managers, interview teams, and HRBPs to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria; drive identification of recruiting needs to support recruiting strategy and execute to hiring plan. Support strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse experienced professionals in a multi-site organization utilizing our applicant tracking system (ATS). Proactively source potential applicants via social media forums, attend career fairs, make cold calls, visit local college campuses or universities, and other creative methods to locate qualified individuals. Utilize effective interview techniques and coach hiring managers to evaluate candidates, focusing on behaviors and results necessary for successful job performance. Create and conduct effective interview and selection training to equip leaders to make effective and timely hiring decisions to support our talent strategy. Perform back-end hiring processes which may include collecting and filing paperwork, ordering background checks, salary negotiations and delivering new employee orientation. Maintains data such as EEO information as required by regulations. Collaborate with the Textron Systems COE Talent Acquisition team to align local strategy with broader business unit processes. Attend weekly COE and Talent Acquisition status meetings to ensure integration across the function. Support the Textron Systems brand identity and value proposition in the marketplace to attract candidates that match the company’s cultural expectations. Coordinate interview scheduling for candidates. Work with the Talent Acquisition team, staff assistants in other areas, hiring managers and candidates to ensure timely correspondence and a positive candidate experience. Assist with administrative aspects of various Talent Acquisition projects, including but not limited to: entry level on-site interview days; booking, ordering supplies and processing invoices for University Relations campus events; scheduling, ordering food, setup, and other duties for hiring and onboarding events; preparation for mass onboarding activities (interns, entry level); ensure compliance with local/state/federal laws, regulations, and company policies. Note: This role is open at multiple levels; candidates will be hired at a level and pay consistent with their background and experience. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field is required. Business and technical acumen: ability to interact effectively with candidates, employees and all levels of management; strong verbal/written communication and consultative skills; strong problem-solving skills; knowledgeable of Taleo or similar applicant tracking system. Ability to balance multiple priorities, excellent follow-through and attention to detail. Some regional and national travel as needed to support events.
