The City of Surprise Human Service & Community Vitality (HSCV) Department seeks a servant leader who is highly motivated to make a profound and lasting impact in our beloved community. HSCV works hard to build a more vibrant, resilient, and healthy community through programs and initiatives that enhance the well-being of all residents. We are looking for a confident, community-minded self-starter who is comfortable engaging with business executives, elected officials, faith-based leaders, community partners, people living in the crisis of poverty and individuals experiencing homelessness. The Community Engagement Partner position will promote HSCV programs and services, convene, facilitate and connect people, ideas and resources to promote community vitality in the City of Surprise. Incumbent develops, implements, promotes, and manages community engagement, youth, strategic initiatives special projects and events. Provides leadership on strategic planning/projects and goals, through project management and preparation/delivery. Manages Human Service & Community Vitality (HSCV) strategic communications delivery through multiple platforms. Plan and coordinate youth development programming. Manages and leads HSCV youth workforce development programs. Provides professional assistance to management, staff and members of the public. Makes recommendations to leadership on community related issues and proactively seeks funding opportunities and community contributions in support of HSCV strategic initiatives and programming. This is a professional position requiring exceptional analytical and communication skills. Provides supervision and support to program volunteers. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor\'s degree in a related field and three years experience in community engagement, marketing and communications, youth development, social work, recreation, education, public administration or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed in the job description. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona driver license. Selection Process
