
Overview
Prevailance is seeking an
Instructional Designer
to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of training curriculum and instructional products. This role works closely with instructors, training facilitators, IT specialists, and other instructional designers to ensure training content is current, effective, and aligned with adult learning principles. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience developing training documentation, leveraging instructional technologies, and supporting structured curriculum development efforts. Travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Manage, maintain, and update existing and newly developed training courses
Provide instructional design and documentation support to course instructors throughout the training lifecycle
Collaborate with Instructional Designers, IT Specialists, and Training Facilitators to ensure curriculum tasks remain on track and are completed on schedule
Develop and maintain training documentation and instructional products in support of new curriculum development, revisions, and updates, including:
Training Project Plans (TPPs)
Course Training Task Lists (CTTLs)
Lesson Plans
Student Guides
AI-assisted testing and assessment materials
Design qualitative and quantitative performance measures to evaluate training effectiveness
Assist with and document Job Duty Task Analysis (JDTA), Front-End Analysis (FEA), and Business Case Analysis (BCA)
Create Course Outlines of Instruction and ensure supporting information is accurately reflected in Training Course Control Documents (TCCD)
Document instructional strategies and complete Instructional Media Design Packages and storyboards
Requirements
Experience developing online courses using course authoring tools
Experience applying adult learning principles and developing technology-enabled instructional content
Experience using AI-assisted tools to support instructional design, content development, data analysis, or curriculum quality assurance
Minimum of 3 years’ experience using Microsoft Office Suite
U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Qualifications
8+ years of specialized experience in curriculum design and instructional development
5+ years of experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Experience implementing and managing courses within an LMS environment
Navy Security Force or Expeditionary Warfare experience
Familiarity with U.S. Navy organizational structure, rank/grade systems, and military terminology
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field
Education
One of the following:
Associate’s degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Technology, or related discipline plus 3+ years of experience in education, training, or curriculum development focused on instructional documentation and training management; OR
High School Diploma or GED plus 5+ years of experience in training development or education with a focus on instructional documentation and training management
Clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
