You Are a Strategic Sourcing and Procurement professional who helps clients develop strategies and operating models that integrate planning, procurement, product design, manufacturing, and/or fulfillment functions within an organization, and connect suppliers and customers across the extended supply chains. You use your data skills to develop and implement strategies that improve the entire supply chain process by applying cost efficiency, increasing business effectiveness, and creating synergies and collaboration across companies. You have the communication skills to ensure others understand your ideas and how to implement them quickly. Your experience means people look to you for guidance and you know how to lead teams to deliver on time, every time.
Responsibilities
As a manager, run most aspects of client cost optimization or procurement process optimization projects, including project management, client and supplier communications, supplier negotiations, and delivery of results.
Actively lead and mentor consultant and analyst resources.
Develop project plans and lead parts of the client engagement.
Manage project support resources and coordinate with subject matter experts from within and outside the firm.
Develop creative cost reduction strategies and cost-out recommendations.
Present to client executives and build consensus among client stakeholders.
Develop and nurture relationships with clients and support practice development (e.g., improving internal operations, intellectual capital, and deliverables).
Assess client expenditures and identify targets to reduce costs and improve quality.
Drive strategic sourcing (both within companies and across private equity portfolios).
Reengineer procurement processes and lead spend analysis and savings opportunity diagnostics.
Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of experience executing strategic sourcing projects/programs.
Minimum 7 years’ experience developing and executing cost optimization strategies.
Minimum 4 years’ experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI) with experience building dashboards and models.
Management consulting experience with a well-regarded firm.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum 12 years). If associate degree, minimum of 6 years’ work experience.
Bonus Points If
Experience in driving insights using visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) and analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics).
MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
Deep expertise in Marketing category and procurement in three or more subcategories (e.g., Creative Agencies, Media Buying & Planning, PR Agencies, Experiential Agencies, Market Research, MarTech, Digital/Social Marketing, Commercial Print, Promotional Items).
Comfort in an entrepreneurial, performance-driven environment with a capacity for innovation and process improvement.
Strong problem solving, independent decision-making, multi-project leadership, and high attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; self-starter with initiative to learn and advance projects.
