A leading global manufacturing organization is seeking a Global Customs Compliance Manager to build and lead its international customs governance and compliance function. This role will define global customs processes, standards, and controls across multiple regions and business units to ensure fully compliant and efficient cross‑border operations. Responsibilities for the Global Customs Compliance Manager: Develop and implement a unified global customs compliance program focused on import governance and regulatory adherence. Establish global customs frameworks, SOPs, and audit mechanisms across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Lead customs compliance operations including HTS classification, country‑of‑origin determination, valuation, import documentation accuracy, and broker management. Oversee global practices related to Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification, preferential duty programs, binding rulings, and recordkeeping requirements. Conduct annual reviews of classifications, origin documentation, customs entries, and internal compliance processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Develop and deliver global customs compliance training and internal guidelines for operations, procurement, and supply chain teams. Partner with warehousing, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, IT, and external customs brokers/3PLs to ensure alignment with customs regulations and internal controls. Analyze import transactional data to identify compliance risks, duty‑saving opportunities, and process improvement areas. Utilize scorecards, KPIs, and audit findings to measure customs program performance and drive continuous improvement. Prepare and deliver import compliance reporting; escalate issues with brokers or external partners as needed. Requirements for the Global Customs Compliance Manager: 10+ years of global customs compliance experience within manufacturing or a similarly regulated industry. Proven experience building customs compliance programs and governance frameworks. Deep knowledge of customs regulations across Europe, North America, Latin America, and Asia Pacific. Strong expertise in HTS classification, customs valuation, country‑of‑origin rules, FTA programs, and import compliance processes. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, or related field (preferred). Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent regional customs accreditation (preferred). Experience with SAP or APO systems and familiarity with supplier documentation and import control requirements.
