
Overview
The Director of IT Engineering leads the IT engineering teams and drives the development of cutting-edge technology solutions. This role oversees system architecture, manages large-scale projects, and ensures the successful delivery of reliable, secure, and scalable IT systems.
Overview of Responsibilities
Essential job functions:
- Develop and implement the IT engineering vision and roadmap aligned with organizational goals
- Define and maintain the architecture for enterprise IT systems to ensure scalability, performance, and security
- Ensure the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient IT systems and infrastructure
- Manage resource allocation, project prioritization, and risk mitigation strategies
- Implement robust processes for system monitoring, incident response and disaster recovery
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with third-party vendors and technology partners
- Partner with stakeholders to identify and implement technical solutions that meet business needs
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, system architects, and IT professionals
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize technology investments and initiatives
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience engineering or software development, 5+ years in a leadership role
- Deep understanding of software development life cycle, system architecture, and cloud platforms
- Experience with modern development practices, including DevOps, microservices and containerization
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, compliance, and data governance
- Experience with Agile and/or DevOps methodologies
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-stakeholders
