A strong understanding of Citi’s full product capabilities and competitive positioning is required. The Relationship Manager is accountable for direct business results, including meeting return hurdles, driving topline revenue growth, and building client relationships across Citi’s product and geographic breadth. This professional also mentors Analysts, Associates, and Junior Bankers. Responsibilities
Be a subject matter expert in the Consumer Retail vertical Understand and follow industry trends to provide thought leadership to clients Drive innovation by partnering with product specialists and subject matter experts; structure deals balancing risk and reward Lead execution on complex deals and manage the deal team process Oversee the client’s credit relationship, coordinating the process and applying policies and institutional procedures Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi policies at all times Actively call on clients to deepen relationships, anticipate needs and risks, and identify new clients aligned with Citi’s value proposition Develop relationships with prospects and convert to multi-product clients over time Assess risk in business decisions, safeguarding Citi’s reputation and assets; escalate and report control issues with transparency Qualifications
15+ years of experience FINRA Licensing: Series 79, 63, SIE In-depth knowledge of commercial banking, strong credit knowledge, and ability to learn new products quickly Expert level Early Warning Detection skills Expert level credit skills; capable of structuring all credit deals and guiding staff through approvals Ability to work effectively in a team and lead multi-functional teams to deliver an exceptional client experience Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills (negotiation, consultative, leadership) Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions Highly focused with clear prioritization and communication Accountability for significant direct results or authoritative advisory capacity Proactive in strengthening client relationships and delivering a simple, secure, and seamless client experience Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role of digital in client experience Able to adapt priorities based on data insights Education
