This position will work with the Fulbright Student Outreach & Recruitment team. With a primary focus on the Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the Outreach and Recruitment Specialist builds networks of faculty and administrators at U.S. higher education institutions (HEIs), demonstrates the strengths of the program to the network, and inspires them to recruit and support the best of U.S. higher education to an international audience. To reach this objective, the Specialist conducts recruitment activities that expand the engagement and capacity of the Fulbright Program Adviser network (FPAs), including: development and implementation of the FPA training program; oversight of the FPA Mentor Program and the FPA Development Initiative. Additionally, the Specialist supports the Assistant Director in implementing the FUSP recruitment strategy by presenting at academic conferences and campuses, hosting webinars, FPA resource development, data analysis, and execution of digital campaigns to reach the FPA audience. This position works across teams at IIE and serves as a subject matter expert for the Fulbright Student Program. Essential Functions
Supports the Assistant Director in the development of a strategic recruitment plan for the Fulbright U.S. Student program with targeted outreach to expand applicant and institutional representation; directly responsible for implementing strategies to increase FPA network engagement. Contributes to strategic planning through data analysis to assess FPA effectiveness (application success, resource usage, trainings, webinars); uses metrics to recommend new resources and trainings. Serves as the internal subject matter expert on FPA engagement and institutional representation; acts as a point of contact for FPAs and potential applicants. Manages FPA Mentor Program and FPA Development Initiative, including oversight of applications, orientation, and tracking outreach activities and outcomes. Maintains FPA resources and works with the Application & Selection team on FPA Application Portal materials; oversees data collection such as surveys. Leads development and dissemination of outreach materials tailored to different FPA engagement levels and ensures correct brand usage. Manages Group Presentation Session and FPA webinar schedules, plus in-person FPA trainings and events. Provides work direction to the Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator on event logistics, travel, reimbursements, and engagement assignments; oversees procurement and payments for events and materials. Develops and maintains key contacts at partner institutions; collaborates with external constituencies including ECA, vendors, consultants, and contractors to represent IIE and the Fulbright Program. Assists in developing, tracking, and maintaining the program budget for FPA-related activities. Coordinates with Strategic Communications and Events Teams to highlight institutional success stories and integrate FPAs into Fulbright Program events. Collaborates with the Director of Academic Relations and the Fulbright Scholar Outreach & Recruitment team to bolster institutional engagement across program opportunities. Qualifications and Experience
Education and Work Experience:
Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Master’s or other advanced degree preferred Strong understanding of best practices in the U.S. HEI and fellowships context Strong understanding of higher education environment, including international programs, grants and sponsored research, and fellowship advising Ability to organize and handle a large volume of work under time constraints Excellent interpersonal, communication, public speaking and presentation skills Diplomacy in difficult situations (preferred) Experience with customer or volunteer relationship management and database software (preferred) Proficiency with MS Office applications and outreach/recruitment tools Willingness and availability to travel Salary and Benefits
Hiring Range: $67,097 - $85,801. Salary determined by experience, knowledge, and other factors. IIE offers medical, dental, and vision plans, paid time off and holidays, student loan and tuition reimbursement programs, retirement plans, and family leave benefits. Work Conditions & Physical Demands:
