Apple is seeking a highly skilled
PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA)
to support and manage mission-critical database environments. The ideal candidate will have
strong hands-on experience in PostgreSQL administration ,
performance tuning , high availability, and enterprise-scale database operations. Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain
PostgreSQL databases
in production and non-production environments Ensure
high availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity
using replication, clustering, and backup strategies Perform
database performance tuning , query optimization, and index management Monitor database health, capacity planning, and proactive issue resolution Implement and manage
backup & recovery solutions
(pg_dump, pg_basebackup, WAL, etc.) Work closely with application, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support database needs Manage
security, access controls, roles, and permissions
in compliance with enterprise standards Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts (Shell, Python, etc.) Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a fast-paced environment Support database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime Maintain proper documentation and follow operational best practices Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience as a
PostgreSQL DBA Strong expertise in
PostgreSQL architecture, internals, and performance tuning Experience with
replication technologies
(Streaming Replication, Logical Replication) Hands-on experience with
HA/DR solutions
(Patroni, PgBouncer, Pgpool-II, etc.) Proficiency in
Linux/Unix environments Experience with
backup, restore, and recovery strategies Solid understanding of
SQL, indexing, execution plans , and query optimization Experience supporting
large-scale, high-traffic enterprise databases Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Nice to Have
Experience with
Cloud platforms
(AWS, GCP, or Azure) Knowledge of
Kubernetes / containerized PostgreSQL deployments Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc.)
