About the Role

A-CAP has an immediate opening for a self-motivated, resourceful, and well-organized candidate to join the team as a Senior Actuarial Analyst with an initial focus on Experience Studies, Reserving, Reporting, Data Analysis and Modeling for annuities and life insurance products. This role will interact with the company’s insurance operating companies and management team. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will have the opportunity to participate in many aspects of the company’s actuarial functions and will work closely with leadership from the finance, technology and actuarial teams. This role offers growth as A-CAP continues to expand its business.

What You Will Do

Perform Annuity & Life Insurance modeling, including modeling enhancements using GGY AXIS

Support reserving & reporting activities

Assist with reinsurance administration & reporting

Perform data analysis

Support pricing as needed

Support subsidiary insurance companies’ other core actuarial functions as needed (valuation, cash flow testing, pro-forma/business planning, risk management, etc.) with opportunities to rotate through various actuarial functions on a short-term basis

Work closely with key stakeholders

Support additional actuarial projects as needed

What You Will Need

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, actuarial science, or related field with 3+ years of actuarial experience

Two or more exams passed toward the ASA/FSA designation

Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and GGY AXIS (or similar actuarial software). Tech-savvy is a plus

Experience with annuity or life products and relevant actuarial work (Experience Studies, Reserving, Pricing, Modeling, etc.)

Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate in a professional and concise manner, both verbally and written

Ability to work independently in an opportunity-rich, dynamic environment with a steep learning curve.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Experience with asset modeling, cash flow testing & reinsurance, particularly for fixed annuity products

Experience with pre-need and/or final expense life insurance products

Experience with US Statutory and/or GAAP financial reporting

Position Type and Hours This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 40 hours weekly, or as otherwise arranged with the manager of the department.
