Overview Salary Range:

$50,000–$60,000 annually, plus benefits (health and dental)

General Description:

Northside United Methodist Church is seeking a full-time Student Ministry Associate to support the spiritual growth of middle and high school students through meaningful relationships, engaging programs, and Christ-centered discipleship.

This role is ideal for someone early in their ministry journey who is excited to learn, grow, and invest in students alongside a supportive staff team. The Student Ministry Associate will work closely with the Director of Student Ministry and other leaders to help students feel welcomed, connected, and encouraged in their faith.

Responsibilities

Relational Ministry

Build positive, consistent relationships with middle and high school students

Encourage students to participate in youth group, small groups, events, and retreats

Attend students’ extracurricular activities when possible to support connection

Program & Discipleship

Help lead weekly Bible studies and small group environments

Assist with Sunday night youth gatherings, including games and activities

Occasionally help deliver messages or teaching moments

Encourage students as they take next steps in their faith

Events & Outreach

Assist in planning and running fun, welcoming events for students

Help execute student ministry retreats and special activities

Communication & Support

Help communicate event details to students and parents

Assist with scheduling and coordination under the direction of the Student Ministry Director

Support parents by helping them stay informed and connected

Communication & Media

Assist with Student Ministries social media accounts

Help create simple, engaging content (reels, stories, posts)

Administrative & Team Support

Help with basic administrative and organizational tasks

Work collaboratively with staff and volunteer leaders in a team environment

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree required

Experience with youth ministry, camp counseling, or working with students in some capacity

Desire to grow in ministry skills like Bible teaching, leadership, and group facilitation

Willingness to learn, take initiative, and receive feedback

Strong relational skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude

Fun, energetic, and approachable personality
