Role Description We’re seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Director of Engineering and Technical Services to lead innovation, safety, and reliability across our aircraft maintenance programs. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering excellence, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional collaboration. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN. What You’ll Do: Lead with vision: Oversee Engineering, Fleet Reliability, Maintenance Programs, and Condition-Based Maintenance to ensure industry-leading safety and performance. Drive continuous improvement: Optimize maintenance strategies to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and support operational excellence. Strengthen partnerships: Serve as the primary technical liaison with OEMs and industry groups to influence best practices and product improvements. Empower teams: Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers, analysts, and managers to deliver results and foster innovation. What We’re Looking For: Proven leadership in a FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance environment. Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, engineering processes, and aircraft reliability programs. A collaborative, analytical mindset with a passion for solving complex challenges. A servant leader who builds trust, inspires teams, and drives strategic outcomes. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an aviation-related technical field, or equivalent related work experience in lieu of a degree. 3-5 years of leadership experience required. 10 years of leadership experience preferred. Knowledge of FAR Part 121 airline technical maintenance operations preferred. Knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), aircraft reliability analysis methodologies, engineering processes, and maintenance program effectiveness FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is a plus. Demonstrated experience in refining and implementing effective processes. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Experience working effectively with and managing a diverse and inclusive workforce. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions.
