This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.

Role Overview The Secondary Portfolio Associate will be a key member of the Secondary Portfolio Operations team, supporting the Secondary Investment group in both capital raising and investment activities. This role offers broad exposure across marketing and fundraising support, portfolio analysis and reporting, investment book management, and the overall investment process. The Associate will also collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, including Accounting, Marketing, and Investor Relations, to ensure smooth and effective business operations for the Secondary platform.

Please note that this role is not focused on evaluating and executing Secondary investments.

What you will do

Maintenance of investment book of record, cash activity, valuation, and reconciliation to third party administrators

Ensure data integrity by supervising position-level accuracy and completeness

Participation in weekly Secondary Investments team meetings

Perform portfolio and strategy-level analyses to support management decisions, client requests, and internal reporting

Maintenance of Secondary track record and other metrics to support analysis, fundraising, and client updates

Prepare and maintain all monitoring materials for Secondary programs including funds, separate accounts, and individual deals

Liaise with across multiple HarbourVest teams to support ongoing monitoring, marketing, and reporting for Secondary funds as required

What you bring

Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with keen attention to detail

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Technical proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Proven understanding of private equity terminology and performance metrics

CPA designation is a plus

Education Preferred

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience

2-5 Years of relevant experience

Salary Range $79,000.00 - $111,000.00

This USD base salary range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. This role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is determined based on individual and overall firm performance. In addition to salary and bonus, total compensation may include eligibility for long-term reward programs and a comprehensive total rewards package that may include retirement, health, insurance, paid time off, and wellness programs. Our total rewards offerings are influenced by several business factors, and eligibility for certain components will vary by position and geography. The posted ranges do not apply outside the U.S. and should not be converted to other currencies as a proxy for compensation in other countries.
