
Overview
IMEG, one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S., seeks a Project Industrial Architecture Designer in Cincinnati, OH. The role involves leading design efforts as a project manager or lead architect for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborating with senior staff on larger, high-complexity projects. You will work with a team of architects, engineers, and consultants to provide facilities solutions for industrial clients, developing design concepts, documents, and details within the project budget. You will train, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
Responsibilities
Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information; build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
Support the execution of consulting projects as part of a project team; lead efforts in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines; document design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring progress, percent complete, and fees.
Analyze engineering problems and propose innovative solutions; collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
Provide in-process design reviews of facilities design, calculations, and specifications; implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure designs meet IMEG and industry standards and client requirements.
Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architecture; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work; identify and mitigate potential safety risks.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.
Identify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager.
Oversee projects through bidding and construction administration phases.
Required Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in producing technical plans and specifications.
Ability to train and mentor less experienced staff.
Proficiency with industry-standard engineering software and tools, including CAD and BIM software.
Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Eagerness to adapt to new challenges.
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form to individuals or groups.
Ability to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight stays.
Education and Experience Education options include:
Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Architecture, or equivalent required; 3 years of experience minimum (4 preferred) in the building design consulting industry.
OR Associate degree or certificate in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or CAD with 7 years of experience minimum (8 preferred) in the building design consulting industry.
Physical Requirements
Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.
Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $83,000 – $112,000. Minimums and maximums may vary by location. Individual pay is based on factors including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
