The ABC7 News team is committed to breaking news and weather coverage in addition to building a better Bay Area through solutions-based journalism. Candidates must be a passionate storyteller, brilliant multi-platform content creator, effective communicator and excellent teammate. Applicants are expected to have a strong editorial background in a breaking news environment, with experience using lightweight digital electronic cameras, to write and edit visually creative, memorable stories with active live reporting. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing contacts and sources and telling impactful stories. The ideal candidate innovates every day, enjoys experimenting with new technology, and is an active user of social media for newsgathering. This person must be organized, work well under pressure and constant deadlines, and bring a positive attitude and receptiveness to feedback. This role is a key member of the morning news team and will include fill-in anchor opportunities. Responsibilities
Deliver live breaking news and traffic reports from the studio Write and edit breaking news stories under tight deadlines Shoot, write, and edit daily news stories for all platforms Maintain an active and engaging social media presence Serve as presenter and producer for the streaming news channel Provide fill-in anchoring as needed Compensation & Benefits
The hiring range for this SAG-AFTRA role in San Francisco, CA is $90,948 to $160,000 per year. The base pay offered may vary based on geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may include additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
