Parkwest Bicycle Casino is seeking a Lead Gardener/Grounds maintenance who is responsible for overseeing daily gardening and landscaping operations while actively participating in hands-on maintenance and improvement of outdoor space. Responsibilities

Lead, train, and supervise gardening staff to ensure efficient and high-quality work. Plan and assign daily and weekly gardening tasks based on seasonal needs. Perform hands-on gardening duties, including planting, pruning, mowing, edging, fertilizing, and irrigation. Monitor plant health and implement pest, weed, and disease control measures. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and storage of tools, equipment, and materials Enforce safety procedures and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations Communicate regularly with management regarding schedules, supplies, and project status. Assist with landscape design, improvements, and special projects as needed Inspect grounds regularly and address issues promptly to maintain appearance stand. Read work orders or receive instructions from Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Operate vehicles and powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, Forklift vehicle, blowers, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, seed sowing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls. Mows grass, applies fertilizer, applies chemicals for weed and pest control, installs and maintains sprinkler systems, plants and cares for landscaping and turf, and adjusts and makes minor repairs on all maintenance equipment. Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Water lawn and shrubs. Ensures that assigned work area is maintained in a safe condition. Must be able to work overtime when necessary. Must be available to work all shifts as needed. Assists the Engineering department in miscellaneous projects. Perform other duties as assigned by the manager. Qualifications

Must be able to pass mandatory screening including a background check and drug test. Must be at least 21 years of age. Able to use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes. Sharpen tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears. Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers. Able to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner. Available for full time work which may include weekends and evening scheduling; and ready for all programs and activities. Able to work varied shifts and flexible schedules. Able to communicate clearly with team members. Able to work independently. Able to work within a team environment. Education:

High school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent or Horticulture, Landscaping or related certification a plus. Pesticide applicator license a plus. Experience:

Three-five (3-5) years Lead grounds maintenance experience and knowledge of plant cultivation, use of fertilizers, etc. Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry tools, supplies, and inventory up to 50 pounds.
