
Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and development of custom commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role focuses on 3D modeling, system layout, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver fully engineered HVAC units.
Key Responsibilities
Create and modify 3D mechanical models for HVAC units using Inventor
Design and route ductwork based on airflow calculations and room requirements
Develop fabrication-ready models and detailed drawings
Prepare and maintain accurate Bills of Materials
Review markups and incorporate design revisions
Collaborate with internal designers to resolve design challenges
Reference engineering standards, manuals, and technical data during design
Manage drawings and revisions within a document control system
Communicate design concepts to vendors and customers when needed
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of engineering or mechanical design experience
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor
Solid understanding of HVAC system components and assembly
Ability to read architectural and mechanical drawings
Basic knowledge of electrical and control systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience selecting HVAC components (compressors, coils, fans) is a plus
Limited travel availability (under 5%)
