Head of US Underwriting
to join us at INSHUR! We’re based in New York City , with offices in LA, Dallas, UK and Netherlands and our company embraces a hybrid working model, allowing you to thrive in both collaborative office settings and the comfort of your own home . You’ll have the opportunity to work remotely while also connecting with your colleagues at our New York City office at least

You’ll be working on re-inventing insurance in exciting markets across multiple territories including the UK , US , and the Netherlands , with plans to expand into new European countries. Head of US Underwriting , you will be responsible for managing and modernizing our core taxi book of business while driving underwriting excellence across multiple product lines. You will act as a strategic underwriting leader, ensuring manual processes are modernized for efficiency while maintaining rigorous profitability and performance standards. You’ll be working on: Portfolio Modernization:
Own the day-to-day manual taxi book while driving a transformational project to automate and modernize processes within the first 12 months. Multi-Product Authority:
Overseeing underwriting for various products (Car Share, captive accounts, Ride Share, Taxi and Delivery) with a strategic mindset to manage profitability trends. Technical Risk Assessment:
Getting "hands-on" with in-depth application reviews, assessing driver trustworthiness, and identifying data inconsistencies to ensure sound risk selection. Cross-Functional Product Building:
Partnering closely with Actuarial and Product teams to build products, manage policy documentation, and refine rating elements for automated systems. Strategic People Leadership:
Mentoring and developing a diverse team, ranging from manual underwriting specialists to those focused on modern, automated workflows. The final offer will be determined based on previous experience and location. Candidates with salary requirements above this range are still encouraged to apply for review.
