Description and Requirements
The Public Relations Specialist will report directly to the Senior Public Relations Manager, North America. This role supports NA media relations with a strong focus on consumer technology and business media, driving both proactive "always-on" storytelling and evergreen outreach to build awareness of Motorola's brand, products, innovations, and leadership. The ideal candidate is media-savvy, highly collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, launch-driven environment -- bringing fresh ideas, strong executional skills, and a deep understanding of the evolving media landscape. Responsibilities Support the ideation, execution, and evaluation of consumer technology and business PR campaigns
Participate across the full campaign lifecycle, from strategy development through execution-planning, pitching, securing, and measuring media coverage
Identify, develop, and pitch compelling story opportunities that spotlight Motorola's products, innovations, and executives
Maintain a strong understanding of the North American media landscape and the evolving communications environment
Recommend new story angles, outlets, and approaches to drive sustained awareness and relevance for Motorola
Build and maintain day-to-day relationships with media across tech, business, lifestyle, and broadcast outlets
Serve as a key point of contact for inbound media and influencer inquiries, partnering closely with global PR teams
Collaborate with internal Motorola stakeholders to support product launches, including media outreach, event planning support, scheduling, and tactical pitching
Assist in preparing senior leaders for media interviews, events, and speaking engagements
Track, analyze, and report on media coverage and campaign performance
Bring new ideas, creative thinking, and a fresh perspective to how the PR team operates and evolves
Basic Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of media relations experience, either in-house or at a PR agency
Bachelor's degree required
PR agency experience strongly preferred
Experience working with consumer technology media preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft concise, engaging, and informative copy
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Highly adaptable and comfortable pivoting quickly in a fast-moving environment
Proactive, media-curious, and always up to date on current news, trends, and cultural moments
