The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/Leave of Absence (LOA) Consultant provides vital support services to the Disability & Support Services Unit (DSSU). The FMLA/LOA Consultant acts as the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) FMLA/CFRA coordinator and independently performs a variety of tasks in support of the Department's FMLA/CFRA program. The role requires interpreting and applying laws, rules, and labor code sections related to FMLA/CFRA, Non-industrial Disability Insurance (NDI), State Disability Insurance (SDI), leaves of absence (LOA), and disability leaves of absence, including departmental processes and procedures. This position develops and updates FMLA/CFRA training materials and participates in conducting FMLA/CFRA training for managers and supervisors. The FMLA/LOA Consultant works cooperatively with teams across DHCS and with external partners as needed. This is an opportunity to join a diverse team dedicated to public service. Note:
