Real Estate Closing Specialist II

Responsibilities

The Real Estate Closing Specialist will review loan files to prepare settlement documents, book loans to the credit union core system, and verify all pertinent information has been successfully transferred over.

Provide excellent service to members, ensuring they understand what to expect prefunding and post funding.

Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to adjust to changing business needs.

Work in collaboration with other departments and partners to deliver best in class service to members.

Assist with coordination with first mortgage fulfillment teams and 3rd party title companies to facilitate any simultaneous settlements.

Utilize internal reports and dashboards to maintain required service levels and ensure all daily tasks are completed.

Work with Home Equity and other business areas as needed to support processing and closing activities.

Prepare and participate in regular pipeline reviews with management to ensure daily tasks are met.

Assist with coverage for co-workers to maintain member communication and processes to meet service goals.

Contact vendors as needed to clarify data and reports received to thoroughly process loan closing/booking.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and agency requirements including RESPA, Homeowner’s Protections Act of 1998, SCRA, Fair Credit Legislation, HMDA, and CFPB.

Deliver best in class member experience within all loan channels and points of contact.

Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Qualifications/Requirements Experience:

3 years’ experience in finance processing, preferably in real estate lending.

Knowledge of real estate lending and processing with an understanding of document preparation.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred

Skills:

Must possess strong communication, organizational, presentation, member service and interpersonal skills.

Make sound decisions based upon department procedures, company guidelines and policies.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while still being detailed and results oriented.

Demonstrates strong analytical/problem solving and time-management skills.

Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Real estate origination systems.

Working Conditions Office environment.

Non-branch non-management roles may be eligible for on-the-spot bonuses for extraordinary performance.
