Winthrop Position Title FSL Communications and Marketing Asst

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Affairs, the Communications & Marketing Intern for Fraternity and Sorority Life is responsible for producing and curating publications that represent Winthrop's fraternal community. This community consists of six fraternities and nine sororities (5 Panhellenic sororities, 2 IFC fraternities, and 8 National Pan-Hellenic organizations). This intern will assist with all communication aspects of Fraternity & Sorority Life including: Creating flyers, promotional items, developing survey materials, social media management, and other duties as assigned. This role will provide the intern with valuable skills in learning how to work with student and national leadership organizations, assessing the marketing needs and goals of our office, and appealing to stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Student Assistant will work collaboratively with the Assistant Director for Fraternity & Sorority Affairs to create marketing materials that support the mission and values of the Winthrop Fraternity and Sorority Life community. The Intern will also assist with the planning and marketing aspects of FSL signature programming such as Town & Gown, Greek Week, Homecoming Festivities, NPHC Yard Show, various awareness month programs, Founders/Charter Day celebrations, Greek Leadership Awards and more.

Qualifications

Enrolled as a full-time degree seeking student by the start of the position, preferably in Management and Marketing Business Administration program, or a comparable program. Strong organizational leadership skills and attention to detail. Must maintain academic eligibility and may not be on academic probation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office. Capable of utilizing marketing computer software and online applications such as publisher, canva, Photoshop, etc. Possess a working knowledge of the various social media platforms as well as the data tracking tools associated with them.

Preferred Skills

Basic knowledge of Fraternity and Sorority Life. Photographer and videography skills.
