Food Hub Sales Representative Pay: $25/hr Hours: 40 hrs/ week Location: Bay Area (remote) Reports to: Wholesale Manager About FEED FEED is a farmer- and worker-owned cooperative based in Petaluma, CA. Our mission is to ensure the long-term economic viability of regional farms by creating access to diverse, fair, and reliable sales channels. We work collaboratively with our producers and customers to build a resilient and relational supply chain. About the Role
Sales are the lifeblood of a food hub, and this role is critical to sustaining and growing fair-paying, reliable market outlets. The Food Hub Sales Associate works closely with the Wholesale Sales Manager to manage and grow existing wholesale accounts within a defined customer segment, while prospecting, onboarding, and developing new business opportunities. As FEED continues to grow, this position can offer meaningful professional development, including deeper expertise across wholesale channels, management of larger and more complex accounts, and expanded involvement in sales planning and strategy. Increased responsibility and autonomy are earned over time based on performance, demonstrated reliability, and organizational needs. Responsibilities
Account Management & Growth
Manage and grow revenue with assigned wholesale accounts Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with buyers Conduct monthly site visits with top accounts to strengthen partnerships and identify growth opportunities New Business Development
Identify and develop new wholesale customers through proactive prospecting and outreach Support onboarding of new accounts, including product education, and ordering processes Represent FEED at markets, trade shows, and promotional events Sales Execution & Planning
Develop and execute account plans, sales strategies, and basic forecasts in collaboration with the Wholesale Manager Work toward revenue and margin goals aligned with organizational objectives Make solution-oriented decisions in fast-paced, time-sensitive situations Market & Product Knowledge
Stay informed on seasonal availability, regional production, and product specifications Monitor market conditions, competitor offerings, pricing, and sales trends Communicate relevant market insights internally Internal Coordination
Collaborate closely with operations and purchasing teams to ensure accurate ordering and fulfillment Maintain accurate records in inventory systems and CRM tools Demonstrate strong ownership, urgency, and accountability in daily work Qualifications
Sales experience or a demonstrated track record of successful project execution Experience or working knowledge of at least one wholesale channel, such as: Restaurants, Retail grocery, Corporate food service and K–12 or institutional food programs Farmers market, trade show, or direct-to-customer sales experience preferred Restaurant or foodservice work experience preferred Knowledge of seasonal Northern California fresh produce Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Google Suite. Experience or aptitude for inventory management/CRM software College degree or culinary arts education preferred but not required Benefits and Perks
