Overview
The Personal Lines Account Executive is responsible for analyzing a prospect’s needs and finding customized insurance products to meet those needs. Will assist with client remarkets and cross sell opportunities as needed. The Account Executive performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency. Responsibilities
Analyzes prospect’s needs and pricing for new business and markets accordingly. Receives new business, cross sell and win back submissions and prepares information to submit and rate with carriers. Applies product knowledge, market changes, and underwriting skills to provide recommendations and suggestions regarding new business, remarket and cross sell opportunities. Interacts with underwriters to discuss new business opportunities, underwriting, coverage questions and pricing. Completes and reviews quotes for requested coverages and pricing, negotiates any changes that are required, and determines the appropriate product to utilize for the risk. Utilizes comparative rater technology to produce accurate quotes in an efficient manner. Prepares proposal for delivery to client using established agency procedures. For accounts sold, obtains necessary documents from client and issues policy with carrier. Updates Agency Management System as needed. Receives policies from the carrier to review for accuracy and requests any necessary amendments. Processes all account transactions as needed assuring that all items are handled in a timely manner, are accurate and reflect the established agency procedures. This includes, but not limited to: Policy issuance and endorsements, submission, and review Applications Binders, certificates, and ID cards Proposals, schedules, and summaries of insurance Coverage analysis and recommendations Follows agency credit and collection procedures in invoicing and pursuing prompt payments. Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of activities and other responsibilities. Stays up to date with industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance. Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts to maintain a high level of client retention and product loyalty. Coach and mentor team members on technical, procedural and relationship skills. Follows all agency and departmental policies and procedures. Other job-related duties as may be assigned. Qualifications
Knowledge of commercial lines insurance coverage, products, markets, rating, and underwriting procedures is essential. Skilled in developing excellent inter-personal and client relations; producing effective, accurate verbal and written communication, and active listening with strong attention to detail to ensure document accuracy. Must possess the ability to work independently, applying knowledge and experience to achieve outstanding results. Ability to follow processes and procedures and help develop new processes and procedures to help the agency become more efficient. Team player with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. Proficient in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office and agency management software. Education and Experience
Property & Casualty Agents License required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years property and casualty insurance experience required.
