Feeding Westchester is seeking a Marketing & Community Engagement Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. This role blends marketing, storytelling, and volunteer engagement, offering hands-on experience in nonprofit communications and community impact.

The intern will play a meaningful role in capturing and sharing the stories of volunteers, staff, and neighbors served, helping bring our mission to life across digital platforms, reports, and outreach efforts. This is a strong opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit marketing, community engagement, and purpose-driven storytelling.

Responsibilities: Story Collection & Interviews:

Conduct interviews with staff members, volunteers, and program participants to collect impactful stories for marketing, outreach, and volunteer engagement. Photography & Videography:

Capture high-quality photos and videos at volunteer events, food distributions, and community programs using both a camera and a phone. Edit and organize visual content for use in marketing materials. Content Development:

Research, draft, and publish blog posts for the Feeding Westchester website, focusing on volunteer stories, program impact, and hunger awareness. Assist in creating visuals for reports, presentations, and volunteer outreach using Canva (Adobe Suite experience is a plus). Volunteer Engagement & Event Support:

Assist the Volunteer Services team by developing promotional materials, crafting email newsletters, attending volunteer events, documenting activities, and gathering testimonials from participants. Requirements:

Strong interpersonal skills

- Comfortable conducting interviews and engaging with volunteers, staff, and community members. Excellent writing skills

- Ability to craft compelling blog posts and marketing copy. Basic photography & videography skills

- Experience taking high-quality pictures and videos on both a camera and a phone. Basic editing skills (iMovie, Premiere Rush, or similar) are a plus. Basic graphic design skills

- Experience using Canva (Adobe Suite is a plus). Detail-oriented & organized

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, track engagement, and adjust strategies accordingly. Passion for nonprofit work

- Interest in hunger relief, community engagement, and social impact. Work Schedule & Expectations:

This is an

in-person internship

requiring the intern to work

at least three days per week on-site

at Feeding Westchester. The intern is allowed to work

up to two days remotely

each week based on workload and assignments. The intern is expected to work

a minimum of 25 hours per week , with a typical schedule of

10 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday .

This internship is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, storytelling, and volunteer engagement while making a meaningful impact in the Westchester community.

SALARY: School Credit or $16.50/hr

Monday - Friday 10AM - 3:00PM 20 - 25 Hours/week
