Position Overview The Senior Estimator plays a crucial role in our Estimating track. You will be responsible for crafting and managing precise estimates in residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. This position involves direct client engagement, developing competitive estimates using Xactimate software, overseeing projects to completion, reviewing budgets, and effectively communicating progress with clients and management. Responsibilities Create accurate scopes with minimal discrepancies. Develop accurate floor plans and multi-level/roof sketches using Xactimate Sketch. Possess working knowledge of relevant building codes. Adhere to budgets, addressing any discrepancies proactively. Utilize BELFOR naming conventions for all estimates, revisions, proposals, and change orders. Demonstrate knowledge of local building codes. Maintain a construction schedule, collaborating with trades and management to ensure timely project completion, and provide solutions when additional resources are necessary. Show expertise in source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, ventilation, and deodorization techniques. Exhibit proficiency in investigative demolition and controlled demolition practices. Engage in continuous training with BELFOR University, aiming for Estimator Level 2 or 3 User Certification with a passing score of 85%. Manage your work independently. Ensure vehicle safety and maintenance, keeping them in clean, serviceable condition. Complete reports for accidents, injuries, and incidents in a timely manner. Utilize strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Contribute to the ongoing improvement efforts to establish Belfor USA Group, Inc as a leader in the industry. Follow company and department policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards. Requirements Prioritize expanding and maintaining local clientele for referrals, focusing primarily on insurance adjusters and community business owners, with a book of business valued between $2M - $4M. Act as the primary contact for owners, adjusters, and consultants. Develop scopes and negotiate agreements with customers. Follow BELFOR standards for formatting estimates. Coordinate emergency services after hours, including board-ups and damage mitigation. Identify potential site hazards and address them appropriately. Maintain a professional demeanor, providing timely and proactive communication. Apply industry TPA Program standards and ensure compliance. Have a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices. Work efficiently under time constraints to meet deadlines. Pay attention to detail and prioritize the safeguarding of clients' property and information. Participate in BELFOR-sponsored operations and safety training courses as required. Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in Construction, Restoration, or Content Estimating. Experience in residential estimating exceeding $50,000 and commercial estimating up to $100,000. Successful completion of BELFOR Estimating Platform Level 1 and 2 user certification. Completion of Xactimate Intermediate training class. Experience with national rate and material invoicing. Fluency in English, both written and oral. Familiarity with MSDS data sheets and their relevance to job assignments. Adhere to BELFOR Estimate Format Standards for Xactimate estimates and proposals. Extensive experience in customer service. Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Xactimate. Project a professional appearance and demeanor, with excellent communication skills. Collaborate effectively with others while maintaining professional relationships with coworkers and vendors. Physical Demands Frequent lifting of 50 lbs or more without assistance. Sitting for extended periods. Manual dexterity for keyboarding and other repeated tasks. The ability to bend, crouch, or stand as necessary.
