
Commerical Loan Officer - Middle Market

The successful candidate will be responsible for originating, underwriting, and managing commercial loans within the Middle Market segment. This role includes marketing the Bank's products to commercial clients with annual revenues between $5MM and $500MM, primarily located in Southwestern Connecticut, and managing those client relationships.
The individual will report to the Team Manager and collaborate closely with Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and Credit Officers throughout the underwriting and approval process. The role also includes oversight of a loan portfolio to ensure strong credit quality and adherence to established risk controls.
Responsibilities
Drive profitable growth in deposits, loans, fees, and other bank products by deepening relationships with existing clients and developing new business. Develop and maintain relationships with key centers of influence within the marketplace while promoting the Bank's brand. Serve as the primary relationship manager with a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business and financial needs. Negotiate and underwrite commercial loan transactions, balancing client objectives with the Bank’s risk appetite, growth strategy, and earnings goals. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior officers and credit analysts to enhance their credit skills, client engagement capabilities, and professional development. Partner with internal teams to underwrite more complex lending opportunities, ensuring strong credit quality and portfolio performance. Qualifications
Strong candidates will have at least 7 years of experience in commercial lending. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance; advanced degree a plus. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities. Proven track record in developing, managing, and growing middle-market commercial loan portfolios. Highly developed customer focus, interpersonal effectiveness, and organizational skills.
