Seasonal Tax Preparer
to support our tax team during peak tax season. Full-time during peak tax season
(generally January–April)
Hours will
vary week to week
based on tax return volume
Work will be
in-office
at either our
Waller or Hempstead location
(based on scheduling and firm needs)
_extension-season or off-season work may be available for the right candidate
Opportunity to grow into a longer-term or expanded role over time
Primary Responsibilities Prepare individual and small business tax returns (primarily 1040, Schedule C, basic 1120S and 1065)
Review and organize tax source documents
Prepare tax workpapers and supporting documentation
Meet with tax clients when needed to review returns or answer basic questions
Communicate internally regarding missing or unclear information
Support extensions and amended returns as needed
Follow established tax preparation processes and review procedures
Maintain accuracy and meet deadlines during peak season
What This Role Is NOT A solo, unsupervised position
A sales or commission-only role
A “do it your own way” environment
A fully remote position
Required Experience & Skills Prior tax preparation experience required
Experience preparing individual tax returns (1040)
Small business tax experience preferred
Familiarity with professional tax software (OLTPro)
Comfortable meeting with clients and answering basic tax questions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Able to follow documented systems and review processes
Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Flexible and available during peak tax volume periods
Schedule & Compensation Seasonal, full-time during peak tax season
Hours vary based on tax return volume
In-office position (Waller or Hempstead, TX)
$20–$25/hour , based on experience
Additional incentives or commissions may be available based on productivity and accuracy
