Overview
Met-Con, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Structural Steel Fitter in Cocoa, FL. You will work with precision cutting, welding, and fitting to create structural steel components that meet project specifications.
Responsibilities
Lay out, position, align, and fit fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications.
Operate overhead cranes and use cutting and heating torches safely (training provided).
Perform heat corrections, check camber and sweep tolerances, and implement necessary corrections per codes and specifications.
Maintain quality procedures and practices to meet recognized standards and customer expectations.
Set up complex jigs or assemblies; identify and correct hazards; interpret complex documents; perform daily cleaning and maintenance of the work area.
Qualifications
Superior level layout and math skills.
Complete understanding of pre-heat functions.
Ability to set up and use track torch.
Must pass all tack tests for F.A.C.W. (Flux Core) welding.
Ability to work safely and communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
