Summary

The Manager, Media Strategy & Planning plays a critical role in translating business briefs into a holistic media and channel plan, serving as the primary media lead and conduit through media agency partners and in-house teams. This person will lead the media planning process end-to-end and is accountable for bringing the plan to life through strategic storytelling, audience strategy, channel allocations, and tactical/partner allocations. This role stays on the cutting edge of emerging media channels and reports to the Director, Media Strategy & Planning.

Responsibilities Strategic Business Partner: Build and maintain trust with line of business Go To Market teams through partnership and collaboration. Work in a non-traditional marketing organization using paid media to drive short-term results and long-term sentiment, partnering with owned, organic, creative, and analytics teams. Tie the brand to timely cultural conversations and operate in a fast-paced environment with occasional vague processes and reactive timelines.

Media Strategy & Execution: Drive communications planning and media buying strategy across all paid channels including television, radio, out-of-home, digital, social, and search. Ensure all media executions align with strategy and objectives. Partner with external agencies, in-house creative, SEM, and Audience Planning teams to ensure channel roles, partner selection, and audience targets are cohesive. Lead strategic pivots based on performance and custom media plans; help develop integrated media and marketing strategies with a plan and vision for impact and innovation. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to present best practices, POVs and planning guidelines.

Proactive Brand Advocacy + Thought Leadership: Provide thoughts on marketplace trends and investment opportunities to innovate. Deepen relationships with media publishers and technology partners for first-mover access, competitive rates, and development of innovative programs that advance the brand and business.

Measurement + Optimization: Partner with analytics teams to measure campaign impact and optimize; lead MMM reporting and optimizations; share performance with the brand; manage cross-functional test-and-learn readouts.

Agency Management: Lead the paid media planning process, directing the media AOR to develop and execute national and local media buys; manage timelines, deliverables and output.

Budget Management: Manage national and local media budgets with marketing operations and finance stakeholders.

Requirements 4 Year Degree Preferred

8 years of media experience. Media agency experience required; client experience is a plus. Exposure to managing large brands with sports media experience is highly preferred

Ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results

Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to lead presentations with executives

Problem-solving abilities, independently and in a team, using a structured approach

Personal integrity, humility, teamwork, and a sense of humor

Self-starter with minimal supervision

Available to travel up to 25%

Salary

Annual Salary: $109,675.00 - $172,200.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Factors include scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education and training, location, and market conditions. At this time, GEICO will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.
