Sales Consultant – Home Energy & Insulation Specialist Location: Salisbury, MA 01952, US Compensation: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00/year base salary plus uncapped commission (strong six-figure earning potential)

Job Overview The Green Cocoon is seeking a professional, motivated, and highly organized Sales Consultant – Home Energy & Insulation Specialist to meet with homeowners throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. In this role, you’ll conduct in-home consultations, evaluate building performance opportunities, and guide homeowners toward solutions that improve comfort, efficiency, and long-term value. This is a career opportunity with strong earning potential, structured systems, consistent lead flow, and clear advancement paths into senior sales or leadership roles.

Key Responsibilities

Meet with qualified homeowner leads provided by the company (no cold door knocking)

Perform in-home consultations and building performance evaluations

Measure, assess, and identify insulation and energy efficiency upgrade opportunities

Educate homeowners on comfort, efficiency, air sealing, and moisture control solutions

Build professional proposals using company software and templates

Maintain accurate CRM documentation and communication records

Schedule, manage, and confirm appointments reliably and professionally

Follow up consistently on open proposals and active leads

Coordinate with production and operations teams to ensure smooth project execution

Represent The Green Cocoon with integrity, professionalism, and strong customer service

Plan and manage daily and weekly appointment schedules efficiently

Cluster appointments geographically to maximize productivity and minimize drive time

Utilize mapping and routing tools to optimize daily travel and maintain reliable arrival times

Balance field appointments with proposal preparation, CRM updates, and follow-up communication

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and dependable work habits

Excellent communication skills, both in person and digitally

Comfort using CRM systems and structured sales processes

Self-motivation with the ability to manage time and territory independently

Honest, accountable, and detail-oriented approach to work

Ability to learn technical building science concepts

Professional appearance and presentation

Calm, solution-focused mindset under pressure

Strong follow-through and customer experience focus

Proven ability to plan efficient daily and weekly travel routes

Ability to group appointments geographically while maintaining excellent customer communication

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Willingness to travel locally throughout Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire

Strong computer skills and ability to learn CRM and proposal software

Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent team communication

A background check will be completed as part of the onboarding process, in compliance with applicable laws

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

Construction, insulation, HVAC, roofing, or building performance experience

In-home sales or residential consulting experience

Experience with Mass Save, NH Saves, or other energy rebate programs

Ability to read plans or perform field measurements

Experience with estimating or proposal software (Bluebeam a plus)

We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates professionalism and strong work ethic

Base salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year
