Overview Linville Ridge Country Club, a prestigious private mountain club located near Boone, North Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to join their energetic team. Sitting atop the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains, Linville Ridge provides a unique and dynamic experience for members, guests, and staff. Originally designed by George Cobb, the course offers panoramic mountain views from 4,949 feet above sea level - the highest elevation golf course east of the Mississippi River. Acclaimed architect Bobby Weed renovated the course in 2007, adding scenic ruggedness by way of rustic bunkers and wispy fescue, earning him Renovation of the Year honors in 2009. Along with the award-winning course, the golf operation also features a world class practice facility including a three-bay indoor teaching center, two grass teaching tees, two putting greens, and two short game areas. The center includes Trackman, Swing Catalyst force plates, high speed cameras, Zen Golf moveable putting stage, and a full club repair room.

Essential Responsibilities The Assistant Golf Professional supports the daily golf operations of the club, ensuring members and guests receive exceptional service and enjoy a world-class golf experience. This role assists in the management of the golf shop, organizes tournaments, provides golf instruction, and helps maintain an efficient, professional, and welcoming atmosphere.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Instruction & Player Development

Provide individual and group golf lessons for adults and juniors.

Support the Director of Golf with clinics, camps, and player development programs.

Stay current on teaching methods, equipment technology, and industry trends.

Golf Operations

Assist with opening & closing procedures for the golf shop and golf operations areas.

Manage tee times, member/guest check-ins, and maintain accurate records of play.

Oversee the first tee, practice range, and cart operations to ensure smooth flow of play.

Enforce club rules and pace-of-play standards in a courteous manner.

Merchandising

Assist with golf shop sales, displays, inventory management, and product merchandising.

Promote retail sales through product knowledge, suggestive selling, and service.

Assist in receiving, pricing, and maintaining inventory levels.

Tournament & Event Management

Help plan, prepare, and administer tournaments using Golf Genius.

Coordinate pairings, scoring, and results posting.

Ensure event setups meet the standards and expectations of members and guests.

Compensation: $1,200/week paid biweekly
