What We're Looking For The Social Media Specialist is part of the Baylor University social media team. At its core, this role exists to create content for University-level social media platforms, and to help manage one or more of those accounts.
An associate's degree and two years of work experience are required. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
Additional experience or education will be considered in lieu of one another.
Understands visual media and is adept at telling stories via photos and video
Able to use simple tools to complete quick-turn social media projects
Proficiency in visual media (shooting/editing social media appropriate photos and videos)
Time & project management skills
Strong creative thinking
Excellent communication, writing and editing skills
Ability to find & tell stories
Strong organizational skills
Flexible schedule to accommodate the 24/7/365 nature of social media
On-camera talent/comfort a plus
Graphic creation ability a plus
A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Create content (taking photos, filming and editing videos, creating posts) for one or more University-level social media platforms
Participate in the management (planning, posting, handling replies/comments/DMs, etc.) of one or more University-level social media platforms
Staying up to date on social media platforms and tools as well as cultural and social media trends
Aiding the team in developing, implementing and reviewing social media strategy
Writing for BaylorProud blog
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
