Position Overview The Business Development Representative is responsible for generating qualified new business pipeline through outbound prospecting, strategic account research, and early-stage customer engagement. Success is measured by qualified meeting generation, pipeline contribution, activity metrics, and alignment with Account Executives on conversion outcomes. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective customers while positioning DMI’s intelligence solutions as valuable inputs to governance, shareholder engagement, and market intelligence workflows. Strong communication skills, commercial curiosity, resilience, and disciplined execution are essential in a performance-driven sales environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career sales professional to develop expertise in market intelligence and progress within a high-performing commercial organization. Key Responsibilities Generate new qualified pipeline through outbound prospecting including calls, email outreach, LinkedIn engagement, events, and sales engagement platforms Identify and research prospective accounts and decision makers across asset managers, investment banks, law firms, and advisory organizations Engage senior stakeholders with targeted messaging that articulates DMI’s value proposition and relevance to governance, stewardship, and market intelligence workflows Build accurate, targeted prospect lists using lead generation tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and ZoomInfo Qualify leads through structured discovery conversations to assess fit, urgency, and commercial potential Schedule qualified meetings, product introductions, and discovery sessions for Account Executives Maintain CRM hygiene including activity tracking, lead management, and opportunity alignment in Salesforce Meet or exceed activity targets, pipeline generation quotas, and conversion metrics Develop strong knowledge of DMI’s products, industry landscape, competitive positioning, and target customer workflows Required Experience/Skills 1-3+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or outbound prospecting roles within SaaS, data, financial services, or adjacent intelligence markets Strong interest in pursuing a career in sales within a performance-driven, target-oriented environment Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline through outbound prospecting and targeted account engagement Ability to quickly learn and confidently communicate DMI’s products, data, and value proposition Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with senior stakeholders High energy, resilience, and a proactive mindset, with comfort handling rejection and maintaining momentum Strong organizational skills and CRM usage (Salesforce or similar platforms) Familiarity with sales engagement tools such as Outreach, Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms Exposure to financial markets, corporate governance, shareholder advisory, or institutional investment environments preferred Compensation U.S pay range: $56,640 - $70,800 USD What Diligent Offers You Creativity is ingrained in our culture.
