Overview
El Paso County is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to support whole-community preparedness and operational response across one of Colorado’s most complex regions. This is a hands-on role for someone who has written all-hazards plans, led exercises, coordinated across agencies, and can step into leadership roles during Emergency Coordination Center (ECC) activations. The position involves in-person presence and participation in a rotating on-call duty officer schedule, with the ability to respond within one hour during emergent events. The ideal candidate understands the realities of emergency management and is motivated by public service, sound judgment under pressure, and meaningful community impact. Hiring range: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually. The anticipated work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Schedule is subject to change.
