What We Need
We’re seeking an experienced radio news anchor and reporter with a strong background in live anchoring, government coverage, and on-the-ground reporting. You should be skilled in audio recording and editing for broadcast, with excellent comprehension, writing, and editorial judgment. A personable, compelling delivery, a clear and engaging voice, and strong storytelling instincts are essential.
What You’ll Do Report on assigned news topics, including city council and state legislature coverage
Pitch and develop enterprise stories
Collaborate closely with newsroom leadership and fellow reporters
Produce video stories for social platforms as assigned
Photograph news scenes for digital use
Write, record, and edit audio for broadcast news stories
Write and publish news content for web and social media
Prepare and anchor newscasts as assigned
Learn and help cover all 13 markets across our six-state region
What You’ll Need College degree in journalism or 3–5 years of broadcast news experience
Strong passion for news, natural curiosity, and excellent interviewing skills
Exceptional comprehension, writing, and editing abilities with a contemporary writing style
Advanced pronunciation, spelling, and on-air language skills
Clear, engaging voice with personable, modern delivery
Strong storytelling instincts
Solid technical aptitude and ability to learn new tools quickly
Experience with web publishing and social media
Knowledge of audio recording, editing, and sound selection for news
