Taylor Hall## Pay Grade:Professional## Job Description:This position provides leadership and oversight for all graduate student assistantship appointments within the College, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficient processing through direct action or staff supervision. It serves as the College’s subject matter expert for undergraduate student employment, executing assigned appointments while guiding departments and building a framework for potential future centralization. The role also supervises staff, fosters partnerships with campus offices, ensures adherence to institutional, state, and federal regulations, and supports the College’s broader HR and student employment operations.30%

Graduate Assistantship Oversight & Processing

Provide comprehensive oversight and management of all graduate student assistantships for the College and assigned departments. Ensure the integrity and compliance of appointments by coordinating with faculty to collect and verify required documentation (offer letters, job descriptions, transcripts, English proficiency results, RS-17 screenings, etc.). Process appointments in Workday or direct staff members in completing these transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Serve as the central authority for all graduate assistantship actions, including facilitating additional Graduate School approvals.20% Undergraduate Student Employment Support & Expertise

Serve as the College’s primary subject matter expert and reference point for undergraduate student employment. Provide guidance to departments and supervisors on hiring, on-boarding, compensation changes, and separation processes to ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations. Execute employment actions for assigned undergraduate student workers directly within this office, while building a scalable framework that allows for future centralization of additional undergraduate student employment if determined by College leadership.20% Staff Supervision & Task Management

Lead, mentor, and support junior staff members by assigning, reviewing, and training on tasks related to graduate and undergraduate student employment processes. Ensure staff operate with accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to College and University policies.15% Develop and execute a coordinated communication and monitoring strategy between departmental student hiring managers and the college's student employment office to ensure efficient,accurate and compliant processing of graduate and undergraduate student appointments. This includes verifying correct costing allocations with the Finance Office, identifying expired or misaligned appointments, and preparing analytical reports to provide strategic insight into student salary accounting in alignment with College and LSU policies.10% Compliance Oversight

Monitor adherence to University, state, and federal regulations governing student employment. Review audit reports, assess risk, and implement corrective measures to ensure compliance with requirements such as I-9 verification, academic eligibility, and weekly hour limits. Provide supervisors with guidance to ensure continued alignment with policy. Represent the College in interactions with the Graduate School, International Services Office, Payroll, Student Employment Office, and HRM. Serve as the official Student Employment Partner for the College.5% Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support the overall efforts of the College's personnel and student employment operations.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience.LSU values skills, experience, and expertise.
