The City of Brigantine is seeking a qualified and experienced
Golf Course Mechanic
to join the Public Works Department and support operations at Brigantine Golf Links. This full-time position plays a critical role in maintaining the performance, safety, and reliability of all turf and grounds maintenance equipment. Brigantine Golf Links is a premier 18-hole links-style public golf course located on the Jersey Shore, known for its coastal conditions, challenging layout, and year-round play. Maintaining high-performance turf equipment is essential to delivering exceptional course conditions for residents and visitors alike. Position Summary
Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent and Public Works leadership, the Golf Course Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, and recordkeeping of all golf course maintenance equipment. Duties
Preventive maintenance and repair of mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, and related turf equipment Reel sharpening and mower setup to manufacturer specifications Welding and fabrication as needed Maintaining maintenance logs and parts inventory Coordinating equipment safety inspections Assisting with snow operations and other Public Works functions as needed Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining
turf and golf course maintenance equipment Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems, small engines, diesel engines, and electrical systems Experience with reel and rotary mower grinding and setup preferred Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
